The itinerant cat figure (Dick Whittington and his companion become one) makes a peace offering to the steam engine of his childhood, emerging from the blue bastion of his past. The wine bottle has to be temporarily left behind, as the mother and child vessels await the outcome of this meeting from a position further back along the winding, upward path. Hopefully the three will be able to turn round and head back to the future, as it were. The egg symbolises birth, possibility, fragility, expectation, plenitude, breakfast. The shrimp boat has strayed from the old song "Shrimp Boats Are A' Comin'", which the cat and his twin sang as boys. |
