Christ took Peter, John and James up the mountain to reveal
his true divine self to them. As usual the disciples were dopey, sceptical
and slow to identify revelation. In the Bible version, Jesus becomes brilliantly
white but partly because paint cannot convey brilliance except by illusion
and partly as a gentle and well-meaning subversion, I've shown him instead
as a dynamic black man in boxer shorts. For the record, "A Cat may
look at a King".
