Many people have told me what a balm Gardener's World can be to the work-stressed mind on a Friday evening. Here, that occasional guest on the programme, the cheerful, resourceful Bob Flowerdew, has gone the extra mile and with the healing power of his home-made wings (adapted from spent loft lagging) has brought relief in sleep to the greatly perturbed household of the rector and his wife, whose son's conviction for housing benefit fraud will be reported in the morning's local weekly rag. |
