Pob and Sproat's once in a lifetime holiday, a week on the idyllic Ionian island of Puffalonia, was doomed from the start. The flight from Penrith International Airport had been diverted via Ulan Bator because of a meteorite and the eventual ferry crossing from Corfu was caught in the infamous Mandolin wind, which blows only once in every 2000 years. After a terrifying night in the teeth of this Homeric wind, the island that Captain Soufflaki hailed cheerfully as their destination looked curious indeed. Doubtless the tour representative there, a Doctor Moreau, would soon allay their suspicions ..... . |
