This conception of the Last Supper deviates from the gospel accounts, notably in the inclusion of women amongst the disciples and of representatives of the animal creation in the communion. Howbeit, I approached the subject with a genuine reverence and in the spirit of its essential poignancy, having no conscious heretical or political intention. |
