A young Tyrolean audit clerk has been despatched to Western Australia by his employer to look into Aboriginal creative accounting practices. On his very first day, as he sits gathering himself at the cafe table, the vast possibilities of life in this land down under unfold themselves before his jet-lagged eye. Bees are the harbingers of this serial revelation and in the warm air they weave a spell in the impressionable mind of this native of alpine meadows where non-stop yodelling, so quaint to the tourist's ear, gives voice to a cheese-bound national despair. |
