On Downy Duckling Street
Acrylic on canvas
36" x 28"
£3,600

Downy Duckling St. is a hard climb and at the top of it stands not No.10, but a royal palace. In this torpid realm kingship is the preserve of the gentlest, softest and weakest. To protect and nurture the monarch is the old purple kingmaker, insect wings long since outgrown and rendered ornamental.

What more can I say about this painting that you could not equally well supply yourselves? Perhaps, finally, it may be instructive to point out that the ship inscribed 'Cake' is a hospital ship and here it is shown transporting an injured eye to the Royal Eye Hospital, located through the tawny skein of the horizon wall.
