Eurostar Terminus
Acrylic on wood panel
30" x 17"
£2,450

When they built this Eurostar terminus towards the end of the last century, for some reason they took no account whatsoever of the fact that no-one lived within 500 miles of the place. Consequently the project was a complete failure, with perfectly empty trains shuttling hourly back and forth from Paris and Brussels. As a piece of surreal theatre, though, it was a resounding triumph and also a godsend to the artist (Moi-Meme) who happened upon it during a once-in-a-lifetime safari holiday in the wilds of Dorset (with the eco-adventure company Get-a-Life-Johnny Vacations).
