Landscape of the Flying-Fox
Acrylic on panel
27" x 16"
£1,750

In Milton's Paradise there were, as far as I know, no tadpells, pobbles or squeanies, as there are in mine.

I conceive of these fantasy worlds not as Utopias existing before a fall but as benign illusions, I suppose.

Anyway, none of these softlings ever comes to any harm. You might get a rather lonely one, as reportedly lives on this island here but, look, isn't that another of his kind being led there across a tidal causeway? They're sure to become fast friends. Sure as eggs.

This country is called Lollabar or, in some tongues, Dorsick. Flying Foxes abound.
