We lost a much-loved black cat and a few months later found a tiny black kitten by a roadside, where cars were whizzing past within inches of the poor, matted little creature. Throughout his short life he was always to seem threatened, a miracle that never quite took root in this world, but a miracle nonetheless. This is a fairy painting. |
