Death of a Tadpell
Acrylic on canvas
24" x 20"
£1,950

A tadpell is the gentlest and most innocent of creatures but its peaceful life is dependent on the even tenor of the inner life of its creator. Not the pacific imagination of God, but that of the hopelessly beleaguered Johnsonburger.

In this worse-case scenario the little tadpell, out of a clear brown sky, received the fatal impulse to hang himself from the very promontory whence he was placidly surveying the world, a helpless victim of anguish in the heavens. The cause of this anguish? A physical dislocation in the life of Johnsonburger, a cataclysmic psychic upheaval accompanied by the sight of his young life moving inexorably away from him into a territory beyond his capacity to follow.

Of the two losses the death of the tadpell is the worse.
