I would guess that in a lot of sensitive people resides a profound disatisfaction bordering on melancholy. Just like certain countries are most truly represented by the season of winter so the natural condition of such people at rest is gloom. Their children, at their most human, would like to change this. I should add that their children are invariably creatures of light. As a sunfish will now and then spit little pebbles into the miasma of murk enveloping a sad octopus, to stir the fellow into a semblage of brightness, so these children are wont to penetrate the dark introspection of their fathers with such as a long feather. Where do they find these long feathers?
