Georgina Potter, now 32, has developed into a painter of huge promise. Since her previous focal show here she has become extremely popular and her work always seems to be in demand.

A significant milestone for her was the award of the 2007 Diana Brooks Prize for artists under 35 working in Greater London. This is a major honour as over 1,000 pieces of art were on display at the Mall Galleries for the event and Georgina was inviited back in 2008 to talk about how the award had given her the confidence to give up other work to become a full-time artist.

Potter spends much time in Norfolk, Sussex and Cornwall painting wide expanses of uninhabited beaches, often on cold, cloudy or rainy days -- those days when you wrap up warm to walk the dog and never see another soul. She captures perfectly the atmosphere and scale of these places and I admire greatly her technical ability -- the wash of a wave as it laps at your feet on the sand. In the last year she has also painted in Ireland and Fife.

Georgina studied at Surrey Institute of Art and Design. She is inspired by the ever-changing patterns of British weather and the variations that they bring to the light. The 25 or so paintings in this exhibition will delight admirers of Georgina's work and, indeed, many who will view it for the first time.
