Louis Sola was born in Genoa in 1929 and studied at several institutes of art in Italy. At the age of 78 he still paints every day in and around Menton and in the hills of Provence, where he has lived for much of the past 35 years.
Over the years, Sola has exhibited widely in Britain and Europe. However, ill health has curtailed his ability to prepare for large exhibitions and we travel to the South of France to collect paintings from him.

He has been very successful over a long career. The warmth of Provence comes through in every painting and his clever capturing of the strong light of the region enhances the work further.
