Foreword by Ian Courcoux

Anyone familiar with the paintings of Frank Taylor will know that they are inspired by his travels to different parts of the globe.

Past exhibitions have focused on Barcelona, Rajasthan, Tunisia, Turkey, Nova Scotia and The Caribbean to name but a few destinations.

This exhibition show Frank's new paintings, based on a visit to Cape Town and its environs earlier this year. There are groups of paintings about a variety of locations, the style and mood varying with each.

The isolation of Strandloper, a few hours drive from Cape Town, the penguins at Boulder Beach near Simon's Town, the colour of the Bo-Kaap district of Cape Town sheltering in the lee of Table Mountain - and then the still lifes, the first by Taylor which we have shown - all serve to make a beautiful and eclectic collection of work capturing the rhythms, vibrancy and atmosphere of this very lovely part of the world.
